The
Climate is typically Mediterranean. During summer time the sun shines between 9
and 12 hours per day. Brac lies in one of the sunniest areas of the Adriatic
with 2700 sunny hours per year. Average temperature is 24ºC in summer and 8ºC
during winter. The coast of the island is long 175 km. Numerous bays and beaches
follow one another. On the northern part of the island the most known beach is
Lovrecina (the only sandy beach on Brac) and on the southern part there is
Zlatni rat, the most photographed beach in Croatia.
On the island there are 22 settlements, 12 villages and 5 deserted settlements. All cities and settlements have their own specialty and culture.
Brac with ferries sailing back and forth all day between Supertar and the mainland has the best of both worlds: shopping and fun in Split and the joys of a beach vacation and peaceful coves on the island. The fact that Lozisce is only 6km from Supertar, the main ferry port for Brac, makes the trip that much easier. In summer there are 14 ferries a day! Brac is the closest island to the mainland and the ferry trip takes a mere 40 minutes.
